Technical connection conditions (TAB) and the standardization of semi-indirect measurements (transformer circuits) by means of insulated banana plugs are an important component for the energy transformation. Whether through TAB Medium Voltage or Technical Connection Conditions Medium Voltage or TAB Low Voltage, the specified conditions save costs, simplify work and increase the safety of the switchgear.
In this context, conditions refer to the requirements of the distribution grid operators for the electrical system of the grid connection user, from the medium-voltage grid via the low-voltage grid to the grid connection of the consumers, in compliance with various standards such as DIN EN 60947-7-1, DIN VDE 0603-2-1:2017-06, VDE 0603-2-2:2017-12 or also VDE-AR-N 4100:2019-04 (TAR Medium Voltage).
All function-relevant and safety-relevant components are captively connected to the terminal block. This increases the reliability of the current transformer and voltage converter circuits during installation and maintenance work.
A patented CM (Comparative Measurement) lever link allows two instrument transformer terminal blocks to be selectively separated to connect a calibrated measuring device. After the measurement, the captive lever is returned to its original position, with the "make before break" contact remaining active.
The transparent safety cover system protects and seals the entire assembly including the instrument transformer terminal blocks. It is available either as a full-length profile or as an individual cover. It can only be fixed into place when all connection components are in their initial position.
The combination of disconnecting lever, short-circuit bridge and lever link in a single system guarantees that the secondary wiring of a current transformer is short-circuited before the longitudinal disconnection takes place. This "make before break" contact can be realised for up to four connections.
