Through inductive power transmission, FreeCon Contactless enables reliable and wireless energy transmission of up to 240 W with compact dimensions and maximum efficiency - an efficient performance. Contact-related failures can be avoided and maintenance costs significantly reduced. For the first time, an automated process can be used to establish a connection that previously had to be plugged in manually. The process of charging driverless transport systems, for instance, can be automated. Within the multitude of advantages, it helps increase the level of automation and optimises the production process.
Compared to conventional power transmission with connectors, contactless energy transmission is completely automated and entirely without mechanical wear. This eliminates the need for time-consuming and costly maintenance work on the contacts, increases the lifetime and avoids downtimes. With FreeCon Contactless, Weidmüller presents a connection component for power transmission that has been specially developed for a wide range of applications in the industrial environment. The innovative system has optimised inductive resonance coupling technology. Thanks to innovative heat management, it transmits up to 240 watts with an extraordinary degree of efficiency of up to 93 percent. Its extremely compact design means that FreeCon Contactless can be used in virtually any environment. It can also be switched by means of PLC and can be integrated in a control program. Consequently, it satisfies all the requirements of a demanding industrial environment.
240W can be contactlessly transmitted via two extra small modules, leading to an efficiency level of up to 93 %.
Controlled by a PLC, the secondary side can be switched on or off for integration in a higher-level control program.
Its plug and play capability makes FreeCon Contactless easy to use and retrofitted for existing systems.
